Last Weekend Runway made a 48 hour film competition GEN48. I teamed up with two of my Visiblemakers buddies and we went full in to craft a "classical" shortfilm story. This film is a refined version of our entry. "Buyer Beware" is not about showcasing the most visual stunning AI footage, more about the actual possibilities to combine traditional filmmaking with AI and transform a real human into a "consistent" character with the help of Runways Gen-1 to make acting things work, that cannot be done with Image- or Text-to-Video alone at the moment. We had to incorporate several traits of 3 categories (archetype characters, scenes and objects) into the film. We went for: A crime Boss / Evil Politician, creature from outer space, an office space filled with cubicals, a public bathroom, an abondend pool, an old corded phone and a burning car.
